PRP Platelet Rich Plasma
is a proprietary PRP kit and system based on blood separation according to density using a unique separation gel. The PRP platform is available with an 11 mL PRP collection tube or 22 mL high concentration collection tube. The system allows for the preparation of pure Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) with optimal platelet concentrations and cellular content. Virtually, all Red Blood Cells (RBC) are eliminated from PRP and the concentration of pro-inflammatory Granulocytes (GRs) is highly reduced.
Platelet-Rich Plasma is prepared by taking a small sample of the patient’s own blood, then separating platelets from Platelet-Poor Plasma (PPP), RBC and GRs via centrifugation. Next, the PRP is collected and may be applied to the treated site. The whole preparation process only takes up to 20 minutes.
What is PRP?
PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma.
Why uses PRP?
Platelets are a natural source of growth factors.
What are growth factors?
Exactly what they sound like, they basically make things grow. There are a several different ones but the main ones are epidermal growth factors (EGF), Vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF), Fibroblast growth Factors (FBF) and platelet derived growth factors (PDGF). They can help with cell growth, promote wound healing and increase collage production. All things we need to maintain youthful, healthy looking skin.
How do you use PRP in facial aesthetics?
We use it a few different ways. One is applying it topically after a microneedeling. This facial will tone and tighten the skin, reducing fine lines and scarring. I believe this to be one of the absolute best treatment for acne scarring and fine lines. And something I do on myself every 4-6 months. The nice thing about PRP microneedeling is I can go pretty close to the eyes and lips, which I can not always do with lasers and chemical peels. The second way is to actually inject the PRP under the skin, this can be done around the eyes to reduce hollows and shadowing. It can also be injected next to hyaluronic acid filler that will create a foundation for the PRP creating a lifting effect. This is perfect for those that lack volume, but are not quite ready for a surgical facelift.
How many treatment do you need?
I always recommend to get your first 3 treatments at 4 week intervals, And then once every 3-6 months or annually, as needed, depending on your skins health, and treatment goals. If you start with 3 treatments back to back you get an accumulation effect with the best results.
How soon after the first treatment will I notice a difference?
You will notice a difference in the next week. But the growth factors continue to work for up to 6 months, increasing your bodies ability to grow and repair the skin. Microneedeling alone has shown to increase collagen production up to 600% in six months. If you add PRP to the microneedeling, you get even more drastic results. What I like about the PRP is that in 3 months from now, you look at your skin, and it looks healthier, thicker and more youthful, its subtle but also very gratifying.
What is the downtime for PRP facial?
Your first day you are fairly pink. It is not recommend to apply anything to the skin, this includes makeup and SPF. Most patients receive this treatment on a Friday afternoon, relax Friday night, have a low-key Saturday and Sunday and return to work Monday. The second day your face will have some mild redness and dry patches, occasionally some mild bruising. You will keep the face clean this second day. But the third day, you can start applying products again, but you will feel a slight dryness to the skin as it starts to release the old dead skin and get ready for the burst of new healthy skin.
What can I do to achieve lasting results?
I recommend daily care that has growth factors in it be applied daily to the skin. We sell a product that uses lilac flower stem cells that help to promote the growth of new skin. Research shows plant stem cells have an anti-wrinkle effect. I can customize a corrective daily care regimen that fits your skin and lifestyle needs. This will promote the health and appearance of the skin and prevent future damage and slow the signs of aging.
What is the downtime for vaginal rejuvenation?
There is no downtime. But you will have a topical anesthetic (numbing) cream on that last for roughly 4 hours and it is best to wash this off after the procedure before coming in contact with someone else’s skin.
While we are talking about down there, what is the O-shot?
The ‘O-shot’ is a trademarked method of using PRP injections into the vaginal wall and clitoris and was invented by Charles Runels, MD. It is also known as the ‘Orgasm injection”
Have you done any training specifically for the O-shot?
Yes, I took the required online training in Spring 2016.
And how does that compare to the G-shot?
Before the O-shot, was the G-shot. Developed by gynecologist David Matlock, the patent pending ‘G-Shot’ technique uses an injection of hyaluronic acid for g-spot amplification. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that is used in facial cosmetics to add volume and contouring as well. This is recommended in women with normal sexual function. Results last 3-5 months.
What about hair, can you grow more hair?
In hair restoration, I inject directly into the scalp and this creates a flood of growth factors to hair follicle stimulating growth. If you have no hair follicles, ie bald, the hair will not grow. But if you have follicles that are weak, PRP injections may help them perk up again and grow thicker, healthier hair. With hair, it is all about the environment and we might add some prescription options as well if needed.
What is the PRP Facial?
The PRP facial is a method of using PRP topically on the skin after a microneedling treatment. You see this with patients that have red faces or it looks like blood is on the face, but that is not actually what is happening. The PRP is a yellow tone solution that is void of any red blood cells. We are not actually applying any red blood to the skin. The only reason you see red or pink, is from the microneedeling treatment itself, as it creates tiny pin-point bleeding to stimulate the immune system to grow new skin.
Tell me about vaginal rejuvenation?
PRP is extracted from the patients blood and then injected into their vaginal wall and clitoris which can help with urinary incontinence and improve sexual function. It does not help with libido or desire, that is behavior and hormone therapy! Research shows that women on BHRT get better results from PRP vaginal rejuvenation then those that do not have their hormones balanced. It is alos recommended to look into skin tightening with the Viora for labia laxity.
